Investec Wealth & Investment (IW&I) is the UK arm of Investec Group’s investment management division and is wholly owned by our London-listed parent company. We have approximately £41.1 billion of funds under management, including £3.3 billion managed on behalf of Charities (as of March 2021) across the UK. IW&I has a specialist Charities team who are familiar with the complex issues facing the not-for-profit sector.
The bespoke portfolios we offer provide you with a solution tailored to your investment needs. Our investment managers aim to develop close working relationships with you so that they can fully understand your requirements and establish a long-term partnership. This means you will always have direct access to the investment manager making decisions on your portfolios.
We take our fiduciary responsibilities seriously. ESG factors are a key component of our investment process. The analysts in our Investment and Research Office meet and engage with the management teams of companies and funds in which we look to invest, and use a number of external scoring (Sustainalytics) and proprietary systems to help assess ESG risks and opportunities.
We use ISS (Institutional Shareholder Services) to highlight contentious governance issues and to advise on voting. For clients wishing to avoid investment in certain companies or sectors, we use Ethical Screening as a tool to achieve this, and we can help and advise clients in setting their own ethical policy. Investec are signatories to the UN PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment). In September 2021, we were delighted to be accepted as one of the first signatories to the Financial Reporting Council’s revised Stewardship Code.
At Investec, we live in Society, not off it. As an organisation, we are passionate about making a meaningful contribution to the communities around us. We deliver targeted programmes with community partners and through the active volunteering of our people.
With investment, your capital is at risk.
