Asad is a Royal Television Society award-winning reporter and a BAFTA-nominated presenter for News Programme of the Year. He has reported worldwide and is currently a lead BBC London television news presenter.
In 2024, ten months after launching his new weekly radio show on BBC Radio London, Asad won the Radio Presenter of the Year award at the national Asian Media Awards. It was the first time the honour had been awarded within a year of a presenter hosting a new show.
Before joining the BBC, Asad worked in banking as a foreign exchange dealer before going to the Houses of Parliament, to be a researcher in the House of Lords.
Asad is an Ambassador for His Majesty the King’s Mosaic charity, now part of the King’s Trust. He is an Ambassador for His Majesty’s British Asian Trust. Asad is an alumnus of the United States International Visitor Leadership programme and a member of Mensa.
